Canadian Douglas Fir

Canadian Douglas Fir is a popular softwood timber, grown in Western North America. The wood has a rich coloration, with the heartwood generally a dark tan red and the sapwood a lighter tan. The Sound Tight Knot grade of Canadian Douglas Fir processed by Brookridge to manufacture cladding has small tight live and frequent knots and is similar in appearance to saw falling Siberian Larch. Over time, when exposed to UV, it will acquire an attractive silver-grey colour. Douglas Fir is known for its strength and workability and is one of the most useful and frequently used timbers worldwide.
